(1) Notwithstanding the repeal of the War Pensions Act 1918 and the War Pensions Act 1943, the persons who immediately before the coming into force of this section were in receipt of or eligible for pensions under either of those Acts shall continue to be paid or to be eligible for pensions in the like amount and subject to the like terms and conditions as the pensions under those Acts, and such pensions shall be deemed to be granted or provided for under this Act.
(2) The functions of the Boards of Pensions established by each of the Acts referred to in subsection (1) shall after the coming into force of this section be exercised and discharged by the Minister or such person or body of persons as he may appoint and for the avoidance of doubt it is declared that the Minister may appoint under this section the persons who were members of the said Boards of Pensions immediately before the coming into force of this section.
(3) The War Pensions Regulations 1918 and the War Pensions Regulations 1943 shall remain in full force and effect as if they had been made under the authority of this Act until they are amended or revoked by regulations made under this section so, however, that the references therein to the respective Boards of Pensions shall be construed as references to the Minister or such person or bodies of persons as he may appoint under subsection (2).
(4) The Minister may make regulations for carrying the purpose and provisions of this section into effect.
