58
(1) An officer who has been paid a rate of first appointment allowance is entitled, on marriage, to receive the difference between the current rate and rate of allowance at the date of marriage.
(2) If he or she is serving at an overseas post it will be paid immediately, otherwise if officer is serving in Fiji at the time of his or her marriage, the balance will be paid on the occasion of his or her next overseas posting.
(3) If an officer is promoted, the officer is entitled to the difference between the rate of first appointment allowance and the appropriate rate for the higher grade.
(4) If the officer is serving at an overseas post the difference must be paid immediately, otherwise if the officer is serving in Fiji at the time of his or her promotion, the balance will be paid on the occasion of his or her next overseas posting.
