(1) For the physical quantity work and energy, the Fiji legal unit of measurement is the joule, symbol J.
(2) The joule is the work done or the energy expended when a force of one newton moves the point of application a distance of one metre in the direction of that force.
(3) When not in use for trade, permitted multiples and submultiples of the joule are the units specified in Table 16.
