(1) For the physical quantity illuminance, the Fiji legal unit of measurement is the lux, symbol lx.
(2) The lux is the illuminance produced at the surface of a sphere having a radius of one metre by a point source that—
  • (a)is situated at its centre; and
  • (b)has a luminous intensity of one candela in all directions.
(3) When not in use for trade, permitted multiples and submultiples of the lux are the units specified in Table 31.
