[MOL 5] Licences to be taken out by moneylenders5

(1) Every moneylender, whether carrying on business alone or as a partner in a firm, shall take out annually in respect of every address at which he or she carries on his or her business as such a moneylender's licence which shall expire on 31 December in every year and, subject as hereinafter provided, there shall be charged on every such licence a fee of $60 or, if the licence be taken out less than 12 months before the expiration thereof, of $5 for each month or part of a month of the period of the licence. No licence shall be issued to a person not ordinarily resident in Fiji.

(2) Licences shall be in such form as the Minister may direct and shall be granted on payment of the appropriate fee to the Registrar.
(3) The Minister may make regulations prescribing the procedure to be followed in making application for licences and subject to the provisions of this Act the information to be furnished to the Registrar upon such application.
