13.6 Standard on milk powders and cream powders
(2) Milk powders and cream powders are milk products which can be obtained by the partial removal of water from milk or cream as guided by Codex Standard 207.
(3) Skimmed milk powder, partly skimmed milk powder, milk powder and cream powder shall have a minimum milk protein in milk solids-not-fat concentration of 34%.
(4) Skimmed milk powder shall have a maximum concentration of 1.5% milk fat.
(5) In addition to the general requirements on labeling of pre-packaged foods—
- (a)the product shall be labelled with the name of the food according to its composition as prescribed by Codex Standard 207. The names permitted in Fiji shall be “cream powder”; “partly skimmed milk powder” or “semi-skimmed milk powder”; “whole milk powder” or “full cream milk powder”; and “skimmed milk powder” or “low fat milk powder” respectively;
- (b)the milk fat content shall be declared either (i) as a percentage by mass, or (ii) in grams per serving as quantified in the label provided that the number of servings is stated.
