2.1 Notwithstanding provisions in the Prison Standing Orders smoking is banned in all Prison institutions with no exceptions.
2.2 The officer in charge must ensure that signs are put up stating a smoking ban for both prisoners and staff within the walls of the prisons and during work parties outside the prison.
2.3 No officer shall bring or offer any cigarettes to prisoners at any time.
2.4 Prisoners are not to receive or smoke any cigarettes from family members, friends or other visitors during visitation time.
2.5 The ban is to help improve the health of the prisoners and staff and help in the prevention of chronic disease.
