[CP 10] Procedure to make an arrest10

(2) If a person forcibly resists an arrest, or attempts to evade the arrest, all means necessary to effect the arrest may be used by the police officer or person authorised by this Act to make the arrest.
(3) Nothing in this section justifies the use of greater force than is reasonable in the particular circumstances of the arrest, or is necessary for the apprehension of the offender.
