[MAT 29,100] Minimum age of driver or hirer20 

20
(1) The owner of a jet ski and recreational boat shall not allow a person who is 16 years of age, to hire or drive a jet ski or recreational boat.
(2) Notwithstanding subregulation (1) the owner of a jet ski and recreational boat shall not allow a person who is between the ages of 16 years and 18 years to operate the jet ski or recreational boat unless—
  • (a)the person is under the direct supervision of a driver or hirer who is at least 18 years of age; and
  • (b)the driver or hirer who is present with the person operating the jet ski or recreational boat, can immediately resume operating the jet ski or recreational boat if need arises.
