[CR 314] Making off without payment314

314

(1) A person commits a summary offence if he or she, knowing that immediate payment for any goods or services supplied by another person is required or expected from him or her, dishonestly makes off—

(a)without having paid; and
(b)with intent to avoid payment of the amount due.

Penalty — Imprisonment for 2 years.

(2) For the purposes of this section, immediate payment includes payment at the time of collecting goods in respect of which a service has been provided.
