- approved boxing venue
means a premises or place approved by the Commission under section 10(h);
- approved form
means a form approved under section 37;
- Board
means Board of the Commission established under section 4;
- boxing
means professional boxing and includes women’s professional boxing but specifically does not include—
- (a)all forms of amateur boxing including but not limited to, AIBA Open Boxing (“AOB”) and World Series of Boxing (“WSB”), (or such other names as AIBA may call AOB and WSB, from time to time); or
- (b)AIBA Pro Boxing (“APB”), (or such other name as AIBA may call APB, from time to time),
as governed by the International Boxing Association (“AIBA”); and

- boxing licence
means a licence issued under section 10(b), and includes a special boxing licence;
- boxing official
means a promoter, manager, trainer, judge, referee, second, recorder or time keeper, for professional or amateur boxing;
- boxing official licence
means a licence issued under section 10(b);
- Commission
means the Boxing Commission of Fiji established under section 3;
- medical practitioner
means a person registered as a medical practitioner under the Medical and Dental Practitioner Act 2010;

- professional boxer
means a person registered and licensed under section 10, and includes an overseas professional boxer issued with special boxing licence;
- professional boxing association
means an association approved under section 10 but does not include any body or association formed to govern and regulate AIBA Pro Boxing in Fiji;

- ring doctor
means the medical practitioner who is the official doctor during a boxing contest; and
- ring supervisor
means a person appointed under section 19.
